LEAP FROG Warm-Up For ESL Young Learners

COLOUR LEAP FROG is a simple ESL movement activity to practice colours/clothes and the question form “What are you wearing?”. It’s suitable for classroom or online teaching and can be easily adapted for different ages and levels.

For students who are familiar with clothes (as well as colours) try adding “I’m wearing red socks or a blue t-shirt or black trousers etc… only students wearing those items of clothes can jump up.

Sing Along With Missy – Teach English with Puppets

Using a puppet in class or online can be a fun way to engage young students and practice new vocabulary.
Here’s a puppet sing along with my furry friend Missy on the topic of handwashing (or rather paw washing
Missy is a small and gentle puppet but with a big personality. She works particularly well with very young language learners who sometimes feel a little overwhelmed by bigger or more excitable character puppets.

All you need are a few costume props and a bit of costume change practice behind the scenes – the rest is easy-peasy.

I might think about wearing the glasses and nose in future videos – an intellectual look, don’t you think?!!!:):)))

Sensory Play Ideas to Teach Children English

Here are some quick and simple multi-sensory game ideas aimed at reviewing letters of the alphabet and food.

They’re designed as “at- home” language activities but can be easily tweaked for the classroom too.

So, open up your fridge and kitchen cupboards and get creative – it’s sensory playtime!!!

Try also: Back Feel: As an alternative to letters of the alphabet, try also numbers, shapes and forms Blindfold Touch:

Try also introducing children to textures – soft, hard, rough, smooth Blindfold smell: Try also soap, shampoo, toothpaste, washing powder…etc
