Teach Children English – Knock- Knock Whisper Game

This activity aims to encourage children to focus their energies and practice their comprehension and pronunciation skills.

It can be played in class or at home. It can also be easily adapted to teach online one-to-one.

I recommend “whispering” a single word at a time for young learners to guess. If the sentence is too long or complicated children will find the game frustrating and will switch off.

For older students you could mix in some simple sentence flashcards as well as illustration flashcards.

For example: – I can’t swim – I can swim – The doctor has a black bag – The doctor has a blue bag – I’m a footballer – Are you a footballer? These subtle pronunciation differences will keep older students on their toes!
